College Football Opening Weekend

What a great overall weekend we had on tap here. This weekend marked the start of the college football season and a 3-day weekend.

Connor and I were ready for a great day on Saturday.
Saturday morning I woke up and ran to the grocery store to get some items for some game day snacks. I could not decide between wings, burgers, or something else. After some thought I came up with the idea to make some bacon cheese fries (a la Klondike in Boone, NC). I picked up some fries, scallions, bacon, and ranch dressing. Heart attack here I come. Around 10:20 I started prepping my dish. After the fries were done and the bacon was crumbled I ended up with what looked pretty delicious.
I then layered on the cheese and placed in the over under the broiler. After a minute or two to melt the cheese I removed the fries and tossed some sliced scallions on top. End result = delicious.

I cannot same the same about the end result for my App. State Mountaineers. I think a lot of App. State fans had set expectations too high after beating Michigan last year. People fail to recall that LSU has been the most dominant team over the last 10 years in college football, second to only USC. It was also not a good day for the ACC. NC State got crushed, UNC and Duke who cares, Clemson overrated, and Va. Tech choked against ECU. Even with all those losses it was still a great day with great food, good beer, and good company.

With NFL season just around the corner I can barely contain my excitement.

4) Walker: I am begining to believe that the ACC, means the All Cup Cake Conference. Did you see the story about the sky diver and ewenc and dook. A sky diving company was hired to have a jumper drop in and put the ball on the 50 yard line. Bad weather came up and the plane couldn't thru a front and they dropped the jumper, anyway, and he flew his chute in the direction of a stadium. However, it was in chapel-hill, the landing zone was Wallace Wade Stadium at Duke and there were virtually no fans there at the time.

6) Walker: Did you know thatr ewnc will not play App. State because they are afraid that they (ewenc) will get beat. NCState has played on several occaisons, and the resuts have been good contests.

10) ewenc is spelled this way: a female sheep (which is the technical term for this sheep sex) plus the abbreviation of the nc. In other words is a name by the archrivals in order to name that place in chapel hill, nc.
