Happy 60th!
Dear Mom,
Tomorrow is your 60th birthday. I just wanted to remind you in case your memory is slipping.
I was thinking the other day about all of the things we have been through as Mother and daughter. Some of my earliest memories are of you coming to my crib when I would stand and rock ittrying to get the thing to move across the room. You have always been there when I was rocking dangerously.
Other things that come to mind:
Blackberries
Bubbles
Funny hair dos/cuts and awful perms
Pedicures
Piles of medical books
Piles of mystery novels
You studying at that cherry desk
burn unit stories
Sleeping in a drawer
The Jewish Home
Beans Blah
Goodwill shopping
Stories about your sisters
Hospice
Shagging
Trips to Isle of Palms
Biking
Sailing
Pink wine
Backyard petting zoo
The barn
Hiking
Antiques
Gardening
Jubilee
Contra Dancing
Prince Charming
Reera
About 9 years ago a lot of things changed for you. You really crawled out of your shell and started living out loud. I am so thankful for the years we had together in the mountains. I love that you have found your creative spirit and the hippie inside. Mostly I am happy to have you as a friend. You and I know what it is like to have criticism from those that just dont get it. Good thing we dont care! Haha
Heres to being 60 years young!
I love you, I love you, I love you!
