One of the many reasons that I'm excited about going home

I know that this is just going to be a 2 week visit, but I'm so excited. There are many reasons, but here is one. It was a high of 41 degrees today and a light rain that pretty much felt like snow. I don't know what it felt like with the wind chill, but I can tell you that it was COLD. I had no idea that it was that chilly when we went to Gymboree music class today. So, I was the bad mother who took her baby out without a coat or a hat. But, the car is in the garage underground and the parking at the music place was right in front of the door. I did take Tripp over to the market late this afternoon to get some fish for dinner. I got out his BundleMe and figured out how to put it in the stroller and put a hat on his head. He looked at me like I was crazy. Please don't get too cold before we get there on Saturday.

Someone told me that it is going to be another rough winter. Ugh. I guess that this is what Tripp will look like most of the time. I do have some snowsuits and a heavier hat for him though.

2) Thanks! All of his hats have ears. I think that is what they do at Gap. The other one is faux suede with "fur" on it. He had to be bundled up. I didn't wear a coat and boy was I dumb. It's a good thing that I literally walked next door.

3) The snowsuits are a trip (no pun intended). I remember those from MN. Looked so cute and puffy. LOL Babies didn't like them that much but the -30 alternative probably made it worth the crying. LOL

We are about the same temp today. Wet and quite cool with the 40s this AM. The sun did come out later but it was still very cool. Love it!! WOOT!

4) I'm glad that you love it, Linda. I HATE it with a passion. I love 90 + degrees. It wouldn't have been as bad if the sun had come out, but the sun doesn't really shine up here in the winter.
I have a feeling that he is going to hate the snowsuits, but there is no choice. We won't be able to go outside without one.

5) He is adorable tho! I understand hating the cold. I hate it also - I have been enjoying warm weather. Thursday it will be cold here (not to most - but to me) It is only supposed to be 64 degrees

6) I know I'm the exception though I do hear a lot of happy fall people around me. I think people here grumble more about the rain and gray days than the cold. They complain about that too if it gets down too cold or really windy or wet. Even I have a limit in short-sleeves in 30s with rain or wind. :) The bus-folks have gotten used to me and give me more grief about wearing a coat than not these days. LOL

7) We went camping this weekend, well we slept in the van. i was not as prepared as I should have been. I thought Driggs was warm in his footsie fleece pjs, but Saturday night when it got down to 34 degrees, I checked his feet and hands and they were ice-cycles. /And that was swaddled and covered and cuddled next to me. I ditched the camping and we got a hotel room for the night. So, i prefer the very warm weather, too. Have a safe trip to NC!!!!

8) I would have totally gotten a hotel room too! Poor Driggs. It's so hard to tell if they are cold or hot. I was told in the hospital to go by the back of Tripp's neck. But when it is 34 degrees outside, then it's time to go in.

Linda, I would die if I didn't wear a coat when it is that cold outside. I've almost already busted out my calf length puffy coat already. But, I decided that I have a long way to go and don't want to get too used to being warm. It's going to get much colder up here.

Now, who wants to visit us?!

9) I'd be there! What can I say...I'm different. The first year or so I was here people would eye me like an alien in short-sleeves with them in parkas. I'm not immune to it--just don't feel it the same way. I know most folks prefer hot weather and I don't. I've been like that my whole life. Ask my mom...she couldn't keep coats and hats on me. The closest I ever get to cold is when I'm sick with a fever and then I might need the heat on in 80s. Otherwise I'm pretty tough to cold. But, if you add wet or wind--then I have to give too and put on a jacket (albeit a light one) to handle the wet making me colder or the wind knocking the heat off me.

I'm sorry you have to deal with another winter up there and with a baby this time but just keep telling yourself it is the last one and you'll be back in humid and hot NC the next year with all that glorious heat! LOL

Bek, being in a car in 30s isn't much better than a tent. I tried that once though I think mine was lower maybe 20s and I got chilled too. And a little baby like Drigg's? Too cold for comfort. Glad you had the hotel room to fall back on. Maybe next year won't be so cold and he will be old enough to manage it.

10) It was 35 degrees in Cedar Mountain this week. Richard had to stop and buy some gloves. It felt good to me but I think its the lack of humidity that I really like.
