Smiling at Strangers
Tripp has a tendency to smile at everyone. He was assulted by a waitress at the Golden Griddle last Saturday morning. She kept trying to get him to smile at her. He relented. He smiles at everyone. Roger told me why this morning. The two of us have so many different looks that he is used to seeing strangers. There is Mommy with big hair, curly hair, really straight hair, hair in a ponytail, a mommy with glasses, without glasses, a mommy with makeup and without makeup. Then, there is a daddy with big hair, not big hair, glasses, no glasses, a rough face, a smooth face, a daddy who wears a hat or doesn't have that strange thing on his head.
So far the child hasn't met a stranger. We'll see if this holds true for the next three weeks. He's going to see lots of new people and people that he has seen before, but doesn't remember. It will be quite the adventure.
