1) We have a similar guy in Portland. Statue Man. He's very cool. Since they moved our bus stop from the Mall, I miss him entertaining me across the street. I've missed the street muscians and performers. They are fun. I walked a different way to the bus-stop last night and checked out the Mall area since they tore it up with new rail construction. There was a great sax player. Fun!!LGrantThursday, August 28, 2008
2) Did you run into more than one of these guys? This doesn't look like the "Tin Man", the most popular silver guy downtown, he looks like an impostor. I do cannot see a sign in the pic to verify.
These guys work really hard at this. I don't see how they can do it all day in the heat, with the crowds etc. Many are definitely talented though. And many do not do it for a quick buck. For some, they work their tails off during the spring through the fall and then get other jobs during the winter months.Ericka P & Co. ♥Thursday, August 28, 2008
3) Yes, they are pretty cool! There used to be a group of them in New Orleans, also. Maybe some of the Chicago group could go there in the winter months? Just a thought.AngiThursday, August 28, 2008
4) There is still a group of them in New Orleans - they never leave.justmegThursday, August 28, 2008
5) Okay, just verified this is not the real Tin Man of downtown Chicago. In fact, this guy is actually homeless. Received confirmation from the Tin Man himself.Ericka P & Co. ♥Thursday, August 28, 2008
